Take a cable car 118 meters above the Rhine river to the fortress for the most fantastic view of the town of Koblenz. Ehrenbreitstein Fortress, the second largest preserved fortress in Europe, was built in its present form between 1817 and 1828. Its origin dates back to the year 1000. Today, the fortress next to the State Museum Koblenz with its diverse exhibitions (eg the history of technology and archeology of the country, the fortress history with over 20 exciting stations, multimedia stagings and much more) also the memorial of the army and the youth hostel Koblenz.
